Dave Kane
President
Dave heads Little Round Top Ventures LLC, the parent company for Analytics by Light (ABL) in New Hampshire. A seasoned entrepreneur, he has founded, led, and sold multiple companies in the electro-optical and medical device sectors. His early technical career includes roles such as Principal Systems Engineer at Itek Optical Systems, where he contributed to classified airborne and space-based reconnaissance projects, and Program Manager at SSG Precision Optronics, where he oversaw the telescope and scanning components for NASA’s Aura HIRDLS mission. He later served as Vice President at Arete Associates’ Optical Systems Division, developing underwater LIDAR and UAV sensors.
Dave brings extensive experience in both executive leadership and engineering. He founded Revolutionary Medical Devices, which developed the SuperNO2VA nasal positive airway pressure device, sold to Vyaire Medical in 2017. His second spin out, Pneuma Therapeutics Inc., is advancing a second-generation Nasal Positive Airway Pressure therapy. Analytics by Light is his current focus, leveraging optical systems and the distillation of information from light-based data.
Dave received an S.B and S.M in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Jianping (JP) Jiang, PhD
Chief Scientist
Dr. Jianping (J.P.) Jiang serves as the Chief Scientist at Analytics by Light. He is a recognized expert in optical microbial sensing with decades of experience designing and implementing advanced detection systems for pharmaceutical and environmental monitoring. As the former Chief Technology Officer at BioVigilant Systems, Dr. Jiang led the development of laser diode-based bio-particle detectors and pathogen sensing technologies, which became the foundation for several industry-standard microbial monitoring platforms. Notably, he is the inventor of the µImager—a compact, lens-free microscope that provides ability to deliver real-time mammalian cell confluence & morphology as well as fungal pathogen detection in both clinical and field environments.
Throughout his career, Dr. Jiang has demonstrated a unique ability to translate complex optical science into scalable, field-ready microbial detection solutions. His work at BioVigilant transformed pharmaceutical quality control with continuous monitoring systems used in cleanrooms and aseptic manufacturing. Beyond pharmaceuticals, he has developed optics-based analyzers to detect drug-resistant bacteria, allergens, and airborne contaminants in environments ranging from hospitals to public safety settings. With his leadership, the program is poised to benefit from cutting-edge scientific guidance, technical excellence, and a strong record of delivering operational bio surveillance solutions.
Dr. Jiang holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Southern California, an M.S. from the Polytechnic Institute of New York, and a B.S. from Peking University.
